Paul retired in July 2017. He is currently a Senior Advisor to First Reserve, a leading global private equity firm exclusively focused on energy. He is Chairman of the Board for a First Reserve owned company – Lamons: one of the largest privately held gasket, fastener & hose manufactures in the world.
Paul’s has worked with Combat Marine Outdoors since 2008 and became a member of their Board of Directors in 2017. He is also active with the Ohio State University: Institute for Materials Research - External Advisory Board and Center for Design & Manufacturing Excellence – advisor.
Paul was the Chief Executive Officer of Brand Industrial Systems for 13 years and Chairman of the Board for 5 years. Brand is a leading provider of specialized services to the global industrial, commercial and infrastructure markets supporting customers’ required facility maintenance, turnaround and refurbishment needs as well as new construction, capital-driven upgrades and expansion plans. During his tenure as Chairman and CEO the company transformed from a $300MM single service US company to a $5B global service provider with more than 250 locations in over 30 countries and 30,000 employees’. The growth of the company was accelerated by completing over 25 strategic acquisitions.
Prior to joining Brand, he had a sixteen-year career at General Electric, holding a variety of Leadership positions in several businesses. His last assignment was General Manager of GE Installation & Field Service: servicing & upgrading the GE fleet of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and environmental controls in over 50 countries worldwide. While at GE Paul also completed the GE executive management training.
He received a Bachelor’s (1983) and Master’s (1988) degree in Welding Engineering from The Ohio State University and was a registered professional engineer in Ohio and South Carolina (now expired).
He and his wife of 41 years Diane have 2 boys Zachary 38 and Nathaniel 32 and one grandson Myles.
