Kenny Carouthers
Born in South East Texas in an area known as the “Big Thicket”. Worked in the oilfields and hauling logs until the early 70s. Hired at Exxon refinery as a welder. Later moved to the Inspection Section Department. During the assignment, wote Exxon Baytown Refinery Quality Control manual for fabrication/repairs of ASME Vessels and Boilers. Also wrote and reviewed welding procedures. Conducted audits with National Board, Texas State Boiler Agency and Insurance Agency meeting the requirements to maintain code stamps. Retired after 33 years.
Presently working as a consultant reviewing procedures for ASME welding, code of construction and client specifications. Enjoys spending with 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren. In addition to hunting with them, I enjoy passing on the “old ways” (as they say). This includes a very important lesson passed down to me by a deceased WWII 8th Army Air Corp veteran (my Father), the value of showing respect to all, including showing gratitude toward those that sacrificed so much that we all can enjoy America’s freedoms. Especially for all of our Veterans. |
