On July 30, 2016, Alan Harley Coburn left the surly bonds of earth into the arms of his savior. He was born at the Corpus Christi naval air station on Feb 20, 1970 to proud parents Alan and Glenna Coburn.
Alan attended Dickinson high school and Alvin Comunity College after which he joined the navy reserve and began his training in San Diego California.
He has proudly served his country as a Chief Logistics Specialist and was a part of the Fleet Logistics Center, Sigonlella Unit. As a Selected Reservist, Alan accumulated 12 years of honorable service. His deployments included time served in Iraq and Kuwait.
He was employed by Bennigan’s/Steak and Ale Corporation for many years. His most recent position was Director of Warehouse and Fleet services for Precision Pulmonary Diagnostics in Houston TX.
Alan had many hobbies including building models and collecting militaria. When Aubrey entered Alan’s life, she became his pride and joy.
Alan attended Sagemont church and is a member of American Legion Post 490 and VFW post 5619.
Alan is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Hunt of Sapulpa, OK, and Mr. and Mrs. Winifred Coburn of Harlingen, TX.
Alan is survived by his parent’s Alan and Glenna Coburn of Dickinson, his daughter Aubrey Cahill Coburn, Aunt Janice Hunt of Oklahoma City, his dear friend Melissa Gore of Clear Lake, and a host of shipmates, friends and loved ones.
